3. Why we use it
To assess and process applications, communicate with you about your application or enquiry, administer enrolment and fees, meet Legal Practice Council and other legal reporting obligations, and improve the website. Special personal information (race, criminal declarations) is processed only where required for admission or statutory reporting.
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell your information. It is shared only with the Legal Practice Council or authorities where legally required, and with service providers who host our website, store files and deliver email on our behalf under confidentiality obligations. Some of these providers may store data outside South Africa, subject to adequate protection as required by POPIA.
5. How we protect it
Application documents are held in private, access-controlled storage. Only authorised IPCE staff can view applications, and access is restricted by role. All traffic to this site is encrypted (HTTPS).
6. How long we keep it
We keep application records only as long as needed for the purposes above and to meet legal and accreditation requirements, after which they are securely deleted.
7. Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and object to its processing, by emailing pvt@ipce.co.za. You may also lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (inforegulator.org.za). See also our PAIA Manual.
8. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be published on this page.
